Note: The Toyota OE block off plate fails due to galvanic corrosion between the steel plate and aluminum engine block and is often unusable. The factory applied sealant also deteriorates with age and leaks coolant. The RK1004 block off plate is produced from stainless steel and will not corrode like the factory original nor warp due to its increased thickness. Toyota has not part number for the block off plate as it is installed on the engine block at the factory and not available as a replacement. It is recommended to use a high-quality sealant formulated for water pumps and thermostat sealing applications.
